Bad news for warm bath lovers – American scientists have proven that warm water affects male fertility considerably.
The fact that high temperature affects male fertility has been known for very long time: the first research on this subject was carried out in the forties of the previous century. It turns out that temperature that is higher than 97.88 diminishes activity of sperm and thus leads to infertility.
Scientists carried out an experiment that lasted for 3 years. The results turn out to be disappointing: about 80 participants of the experiment who took warm baths daily turn out to have bad sperm.
However, these "bathers" have a chance to have children, as about half of them can improve the quality of their sperm simply by giving up bathing.
By the way, not only warm water can prevent you from having children.
Holidays in hot countries also affect fertility, according to Australian researchers, whose experiments involved couples who planned to have a child. Many quids addressed to future parents advise the latter to go for holiday to warm countries as this is considered to be the best way to get rid of stress. However, this turns out to be harmful, rather than beneficial.
It is known that sperm takes about 8 weeks to develop in the testicles, and during all this time it is very vulnerable, high temperature can easily affect it. This is why thigh trunks and bathing (and sunbathing as well) are not good for a man who wants to have a child.
By the way, warm baths used to be considered a good birth control method, though it wasn't always effective. |
