Men prefer attractive women while women prefer rich men – this conclusion was made by researchers at Indiana University after they have examined behavior of people at speed-dating sessions. 'Speed-dating sessions' are becoming greatly popular among those who want to find a life partner. A person goes through a series of short dates with different people and chooses a candidate for long-term relationships. According to psychologists, such dates are a kind of 'model of the world' that allows to find out what makes people choose this or that person as a partner. Before a date people under research were asked - ' What kind of person would you like to meet?' Most people said they would like to meet a person with same interests, plans, temperament, etc. However, people turned out to display quite another behavior. Men chose most attractive women while women turned out to chose rich men. It is worth noticing that men chose every second women, while women liked only a third of men. The author of the study Peter Todd thinks that the obtained results show that modern people are very similar to ancient ancestry. ' When it comes to choice of a partner, most of us behave like Neanderthals' - he says. |
