Most Common Myths about Masturbation

Masturbation is absolutely normal and natural but oddly enough there are a lot of myths and misinformation about the subject. It’s quite likely that many of the things you think know about masturbation are flat out wrong. Below are some of the more common myths and truths about masturbation.
Myth 1. Only teens should masturbate. Adults should stay away from it.
Fact. Both teens and adults can and should masturbate. Most adults masturbate, even men who have been married for many years. Some adults masturbate almost as much as they did when they were teenagers. Just go to any adult shop. You’ll be amazed at the wide selection of toys you’ll find that were created specifically for masturbation.
Myth 2. Only men masturbate
Fact. Both men and women masturbate. Why should the joy of masturbation be saved just for men?
These days many women know that masturbation is the best way to get more familiar with own bodies and to learn more about their own sexuality. Women do masturbate and get real pleasure from it.
Myth 3. Masturbation causes hair loss, hairy palms, fatigue and even disease.
Fact. These statements are absolutely false. Masturbation results in great pleasure, there is nothing harmful about it.
Hair loss and/or hairy palms are an old wives tale that is more funny than true. Just think about it. If masturbation caused hair to grow on your palms about 90% of men would have hairy hands. Masturbation can’t cause any diseases. Moreover, it is safer than sex with a partner as there is no risk of contracting an STD.
Myth 4. Masturbation causes the penis to stop growing and the testicles to shrink.
Fact. This is absolutely false. Masturbation doesn’t influence penis size or the size of your testicles. Penis size depends on your genetics only.
Myth 5. Masturbation causes acne.
Fact. There is no connection between acne and masturbation. We can only assume that this myth got started because most people begin masturbating as teenagers. We all know that teenagers go through a lot of hormonal changes that include acne breakouts. Neither one has any direct relation to the other except for the coincidence of timing.
